Clubs & Enrichment at Fawbert & Barnard’s

At Fawbert & Barnard’s, we are proud to offer an impressive and growing range of lunchtime and after-school clubs. These clubs extend learning beyond the classroom, enrich the curriculum and give children opportunities to develop new interests, skills and talents.

Our offer changes each term so pupils can experience a wide variety of activities. Clubs typically include football, netball, hockey, multisport, gymnastics, dance, drama, creative arts, cooking, choir, karate/kung fu, homework club, and many more. Club Availability

Activities may vary from term to term, and some clubs have limited spaces. We always aim to ensure a balance of sport, creative arts, wellbeing and academic support clubs so that every child can find something they love.

 

If a Club Needs to Be Cancelled

We do everything we can not to cancel clubs. However, if a cancellation is unavoidable, we follow a clear process to ensure children are kept safe and parents are informed promptly.

Where possible (one week or more’s notice):

  1. Parents are contacted via Parentmail.
  2. Children are informed during the club or in class.

If less than one week’s notice is possible:

  • We will still use Parentmail and inform children as early as we can.
  • An apology for short notice will always be included.

In the case of same-day, unforeseen circumstances:

  1. We will try to arrange staff cover to keep the club running.
  2. If this is not possible, we will:
    • Email parents as early as possible and request a reply confirming collection arrangements
    • Phone parents who do not receive email
    • Keep a list of replies and follow up with those who have not responded
    • Inform dismissal staff of each child’s collection plan

If parents cannot be reached:

  • We will supervise your child safely at school until the usual club finish time.
  • If parents have been contacted but cannot collect at the normal end of the school day, we will also supervise children until the usual club finish time.
