Learning for Life

Community

Our Community Links

At Fawbert & Barnard’s, we deeply value our relationships with the wider community—locally and beyond. These partnerships enrich our curriculum, strengthen our values and provide meaningful opportunities for our pupils to connect with the world around them.

Music Partnerships

Maybury Open Door
Each year, our children perform a music concert for adults with learning difficulties, followed by time spent socialising with the centre’s clients. This is a much-loved event that promotes kindness and community spirit.

Junior Music Festival
We take part annually in this local celebration of music, joining schools across Harlow to perform together.

Fitzwilliam Court (Churchgate Street)
Year 6 pupils visit the care home every Christmas to sing carols, bringing joy to residents and building intergenerational connections.

Reading Partnerships

Reading Volunteers
We are fortunate to have committed community volunteers who visit regularly to hear children read and support their love of books.

Parent Reading Helpers
Many parents give up their time each week to support children’s reading across the school—an invaluable contribution.

Art & Cultural Partnerships

Gibberd Garden
Every year, classes visit the garden to sketch, explore sculpture and connect art to the natural world.

Arts & Sculpture Weeks
We participate in Harlow-wide arts events, celebrating creativity and contributing to community exhibitions.

School Networks & Professional Collaboration

NET Academies Trust
As proud members of NET, we collaborate closely with our partner schools on curriculum development, moderation, training, sports events and leadership opportunities.

  • Children take part in joint celebrations and shared learning experiences
  • Staff work together through shared CPD, networking, and moderation
  • House captains and pupil leaders have opportunities to collaborate with other NET schools

Harlow Education Consortium (HEC)
We continue to engage with the wider Harlow school community through shared events, professional development and opportunities for pupils.

Community & Faith Links

Local Faith Groups & Community Leaders
We welcome visitors from various backgrounds to enhance our RE curriculum and broaden pupils’ understanding of diverse beliefs and practices.

Community Use of Our Site

We offer several facilities for community lettings, supporting local clubs, groups and activities that benefit families in our area.
