Fawbert & Barnard's Primary School

Learning for Life

A message from the SENCo

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to Fawbert and Barnard’s Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) information page. We are an inclusive school and aim to meet the need of every pupil. We recognise the importance of high quality teaching as well as the need, in some cases, to provide a personalised approach to the curriculum. We want our children to feel safe, secure and happy in school. All children should also feel valued and engage in a rich, balanced and stimulating curriculum.

We like to work in partnership with parents and carers of children with SEND so that we are better able to understand their strengths and barriers. In doing this, we are able to work together towards the best possible outcomes for the children.  If you have queries about your child in relation to SEND, your first point of contact will be the class teacher who will be able to arrange a mutually convenient time to meet, usually one day after school. I am also available to discuss further any queries in relation to SEND.

In this SEND area of our website you should be able to find clear information about our systems and procedures in school. All class teachers will be happy to answer any questions you have about SEN at a suitable time, they are able to discuss any queries with myself if more information is needed. Should you require further information please contact me via telephone (01279 429 427 ext. 3) or make an appointment via the school office.
