September 2021 Reception Admissions
We are pleased to be welcoming you to Fawbert & Barnard's in September either as a new or existing family. We look forward to your child starting their educational journey with us.
We sent an e-mail to you on 16 April 2021 with our offer acceptance letter for acknowledgement. If you have not received this, please check your junk e-mail box. Further information will be issued shortly, please see below.
There are several stages involved in making the admission process a successful transition in your child's life and we are sure you will agree how important it is to try to make this as smooth as possible.
When communicating with parents, we aim to be as paper-free as possible. Therefore, please have a look around all areas of this website, in particular items on this class page and items on the school information tab above.
School uniform can be found on the "Information tab". Please note that PE tops are in our House colours which you will be informed about upon admission. No PE kit is required for at least the first term and you will be informed when this will become necessary.
With COVID-19 restrictions beginning to ease, we are preparing for a safe way to hold our induction meeting for both you and your child and will be writing to you to confirm a date shortly.
Please click on this link which provides parents with activities, helping their babies, toddlers and pre-school children to build up the knowledge and skills they need for school.
Please see below some further useful information and attachments.
Our induction and admission timetable is as follows:
|Date||Event||What you need to do|
|A letter will follow shortly||
Complete and keep safe the pupil information forms and current Nursery details until we request them.
Familiarise yourself with our website
|E-mail will be sent requesting nursery details||
A member of our teaching team will contact all nurseries attended via a telephone call. This gives staff the opportunity to discuss the children and assist our transition process.
|Email dates and times of appointments||
Our Reception team will arrange a zoom meeting with you and your child at home for 20 minutes to get to know you both a little better in your own surroundings. The meetings also provide an opportunity to share information, ask questions and discuss any concerns you may have.
|TBC||First session in school||We have a phased admission period in September which helps the children to settle. A timetable will be attached below when confirmed and will be discussed further at the induction meeting.|
|TBC||Class Meeting||Once all the children have settled in, there will be a meeting to discuss class routines and expectations in more detail. All classes have a meeting like this at the beginning of each year. Look out for details of the meeting on the Reception class page.|
