SCHOOL DAY

School Sessions are as follows:

School office hours:

8:30 am – 4:00 pm Monday to Friday

ARRIVING AT SCHOOL

School officially starts at 8:45 am, but all children should aim to enter their classrooms between 8:40 and 8:45 am.  This gives 5 minutes to get settled and begin early morning work.  Please be punctual.  The security gates are opened at 8:40 am for children to enter the school.   

COLLECTING CHILDREN FROM SCHOOL

Please collect your children promptly.  The school gates are opened at 3:10 pm.  If your child is not collected after school, and we have not been able to contact you or your emergency contact number by 5pm we will inform the police.

EVENING EVENTS

All children in Years 3, 4 and 5 are expected to take part in their evening performance at Christmas.  Y6 children perform in an evening performance in the summer term and are expected to attend.

The academic year calendar is published to the website as soon as possible in the Autumn term.  We aim to send out reminder dates at the beginning of each term and any changes of dates are notified to parents immediately.

SCHOOL CLOSURE PROCEDURES

The decision to close the school is taken after assessing a number of factors such as heating, safety of the grounds and the number of staff able to get into school. In the event of us closing, we will follow the procedure below:

• An e-mail via parentmail will be sent to you stating we are closed or opening late
• A message will be put onto this website in the "Notices & Announcements" box
• Parents can look on the Essex County Council’s website. For live updates. This page will be constantly updated as notifications of school closures are received and will list next day closures from 6:00 pm each evening.
• Essex Radio stations will also continue to broadcast school closure messages

If none of the above occur, we are OPEN as normal and there is no need to telephone to ask. Perhaps parents could arrange a telephone tree amongst friends in classes to make sure the message gets to everyone.
